Hey there, stranger. Don't think I gotta explain the situation: you called, I didn't pick up. Leave me a message and maybe I'll get back to you.
[ Audio / Video / Text ]
voice; this is literally probably minutes after she’s met ashe lmao
You’re wanted for sixty MILLION DOLLARS? What the fuck!

[ His surprised laugh cuts the rest of his thought off, and it's a moment before he can reign it in enough to go on. ]
Where the hell did you hear that!?
no subject
You've been keeping me out of bars over some stupid age when you're an outlaw? A real big one! Like a major one! Like bigger than any of Clint Eastwood's movies ones!
no subject
Now you givin' me a bunch of nice compliments like that ain't gonna change my stance on you and bars.
Don't know what my place in the eyes of the law has to do with you drinkin' anyway. Two totally different subjects.
[ Because he would take that as a compliment. A bigger outlaw than The Man With No Name? It's almost enough to make a guy blush. ]
no subject
They so are not! You can’t break the law that bad and then make me follow it. That’s hypocritical! I bet you went into bars before you were supposed to too.
[ ... Teenager logic. ]
no subject
[ Well, maybe not literally… starting a gang and running weapons on an international scale isn’t the same as a little graffiti or shoplifting. ]
Just trust me: I wouldn’t tell you not to do it if I hadn’t already figured out it was a bad idea.
no subject
[ Wait. ]
What did you even do to be worth that much money?
no subject
[ He won’t admit she has a good point. Still stands that letting one underage drinker in would set a bad precedent. Jesse would be babysitting half the town’s teens before long. ]
Well, y’know… this and that.
[ Evasive as always. He hardly knows how not to be when it comes to this. ]
It did go up after that train heist, even though it wasn’t my fault. I tried to stop the train from gettin’ robbed, not the other way around.
no subject
[ ...............Should she be telling him she has a fake I.D.? Whatever, he probably already figured. ]
A train heist? Really? Alright, Butch Cassidy, I totally believe you.
no subject
I’ll tell you what: show me this I.D. of yours. If I figure another bouncer could call your bluff on it, you’re still out of luck. But if it’s up to scratch… I might let you in one night as a test run.
[ He leans back, a hand over his heart. Oh Chloe, you wound him. ]
But if you’re callin’ me a liar, just might have to call that off before it gets started. That hurts, y’know. [ And he looks so incredibly hurt, with that smile on the verge of a laugh, eyes alight with it. ]
no subject
Why'd the up your bounty if you were trying to save the train?
no subject
[ Explains the half a dozen fake IDs he'd had in his wallet back home, all of them seemingly as legitimate as a real one would've been. Funny enough, he didn't actually have a real, government-issued ID until Deerington. If you can call their ID here "legit." ]
See, that's the thing: people see me somewhere, and they assume I'm up to somethin'. [ He shrugs, hands up like hell if I know why. ] Show up at the wrong place at the wrong time once or twice, and people start blamin' you for all sorts of things.
no subject
[ She feels cheated.
But she snorts at once or twice. She can't help it. ] Please. Showing up at the wrong place once or twice is why the cops hate me in Arcadia Bay, but it definitely never made anyone blame me for a train heist. [ A beat. ] ... Although I guess they did try and arrest me for kidnapping once. Which maybe isn't better. But I still never got a wanted bounty out of it!
no subject
[ And maybe he’d continue along those lines, but then Chloe lets that bit of info drop, and Jesse’s eyes go almost comically wide. ]
Wait, what!? I think I got to clear my ears out, because I thought I just heard you say kidnapping.
no subject
She's holding up her hands in defense. ]
The charges were never even filed, I promise! [ This is a terrible start. ] I didn't actually kidnap anyone, just like you didn't actually rob a train. Rachel's stupid parents got all freaked out when we ditched school and called the police and turned it into a huge thing, so when I got back, they went to arrest me and got me expelled. It was hella dumb, but rich people are insane mother fuckers.
