[ Jesse’s eyes snap back to the screen, and it’s all he can do not to laugh. Look at them. Dense as two rocks, and both of them trying to figure out how to float. ]

Ashe…

[ He shakes his head, eyes glittering mirthfully in the low light. ]

I’d give you space is if you wanted it. But to tell the truth, the only place I want to be right now is right in that bed with you.

[ They really were ridiculous and part of her knows it. If Deerington had showed her this specific image in that tent back in July, she would have laughed out loud at the audacity and impossibility of it.

His comment brings a reassurance that she needed. A flush of pink colors her cheeks. ]

I guess we are finally on the same page. I'd almost be offended if you didn't like it enough to want to come back.

[ Jesse glances around before turning his full attention back to her, smirking ever so slightly into the camera. ]

Darlin', you're gonna have a hard time keepin' me away.

[ Is she trying to hold herself back from grinning like a love sick teenager and at least moderately failing? Yes, yes she is. It's been easy to push him away for so long, and here he is saying that he intends to stay. She purses her lips for some resemblance of control, until she can actually speak again. ]

Then it's settled; no more sleepin' on the sofa.

[ It’s been years since Jesse saw her smile like that. Yeah sure, she’s trying to hold it back; but it shows through enough for him to know how she feels. He’d do a lot to make her smile like that again, he thinks. ]

Yes ma’am. Keep that bed warm for me, will you?

[ And likewise, she's actually started wanting to make him happy. It's an odd but welcome change. ]

I've heard it's stays warmer if you sleep naked, so keep that in mind cowboy.

[ She gives him a wink. ]

See you when you get home. [ And she doesn't even notice that she referred to her home like that, it feels so natural having him there. ]

[ Home. What they had used to be to one another, and that they've now somehow found together again. He can't name how it makes him feel, but it's near overwhelming just the same. ]

I'll be thinkin' of that for the rest of my shift, don't you doubt it.

[ He nods to her, his smile more full of genuine happiness than she's maybe ever seen it since arriving here. ]
