She cringes some when he mentions killing kids, fists clenching, but she at least lets him finish rather than just talking back like she might have wanted to. It said something for how much she’d grown to care about Jesse - men didn’t usually get that kind of self-control from her.

It’s not like I don’t know he’s done all this shit. I don’t trust him the way I trust you or any of my other friends here, but I don’t think he’s some pure evil creature you’ve made up in your head. Wouldn’t he have just killed you already if he was? If he wanted you dead so badly, couldn’t he just keep doing it until someone stopped him or you just stayed gone?
